“This summer, dozens of kids from the Windsor Central Supervisory Union descended upon the gardens at Woodstock Union Middle High School and Woodstock Elementary School as part of the Summer SOAK program. They squashed millions of potato bugs, built fairy houses, weeded lots, ate good food, and had fun! We also hired two high school interns to help maintain the gardens and they did an outstanding job! Nary a weed exists within the vegetable beds! Finally, WUHS is offering a new course this semester, called Locally Grown, that will explore dynamics of food systems and cultivate produce for the cafeteria. This builds upon the 30-year history of the Horticulture Department at WUHS.” – Kat Robbins – Woodstock Union High School and Middle School, Woodstock, VT
