All the schools in the Windsor South East Supervisory Union are busy! In Hartland the kitchen continues the tradition of offering taste tests twice per month. This year each month features a veggie and a fruit for tasting. Students are busy cleaning up gardens and plans are being made for next year’s growing season. In Windsor the garden harvest was used as the backdrop for the fall Veggie-Palooza party. Attendees tasted many goodies made with fall crops like apples and sweet potatoes. High school students shared information about teaching Harvest Lessons, and demonstrated cider pressing with equipment made by students! In Weathersfield the kitchen served up cauliflower to dozens of votes for “love it!” The staff was truly impressed by the students familiarity with and willingness to try this vegetable. In West Windsor the Harvest Fest was a super success with garden harvest snacks, scarecrow making and fun activities for all. – Amy Richardson, WSESU, Hartland, VT
