Event to help those struggling with high energy costs
Vital Communities and LISTEN Community Services are hosting the second annual Affordable Energy Resource Fair, Saturday, Sept 23, 11 am to 2 pm, at LISTEN Community Dinner Hall, 42 Maple St. White River Junction, VT. Created to help people save money and be more comfortable this winter, this event allows people to drop by and speak to experts about accessing energy assistance programs in New Hampshire and Vermont. Stocked with blankets, groceries, renter-friendly insulation tools and tricks, and information on how to repair and improve your home, this event offers something for everyone – no matter your home circumstance.

November 19, 2022, at LISTEN in White River Junction.
Community Action Agencies, COVER Home Repair, Efficiency Vermont and other local community support organizations will be on hand to provide information on home repair, weatherization services, and bill-paying assistance. This event is an opportunity for folks to chat face to face with service providers and volunteers about how to apply for programs and whether or not they are eligible.
“Applying for help paying your electricity and fuel bills can be intimidating” said Anna Guenther, the Vital Communities Project Manager who is organizing the event. “It’s hard to know who to ask for support and if the time you put into applying will pay off.! This event will help Upper Valley community members find the right programs and resources to save them money and reduce their energy use, in both VT and NH.”
Advance Transit is now offering bus service on Saturdays! Event attendees can take the Green Line to Hartford Town Hall and walk to LISTEN Community Dining Hall, attached to the WRJ Thrift Storefront, from there.
