Vital Communities housing staff toured several new housing developments in Manchester along with housing coalition partners from across New Hampshire. These partners included Saint Anselm College’s Center for Ethics in Society, who hosted the event, as well as the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast, Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition and New Hampshire Housing and Finance Authority, who supports these housing partners and others in the state to provide housing education and advocacy at the local and regional level. The group’s tour included the 142-unit affordable housing project Residences at Chestnut pictured here. The inspiring housing activity in Manchester served as a backdrop for great conversation between these housing partners across the state about the different challenges, needs and opportunities present in the work to address the state’s housing crisis — reminding us that the housing pinch we see here in the Upper Valley is experienced by communities all across the state.
