The Local Crowd Upper Valley Crowdfunds Reduced-Price ‘Farm Shares’
Vital Communities has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support affordable fall crop “farm shares” – shares of fresh produce grown by local farmers. The campaign, conducted through The Local Crowd Upper Valley platform, supports Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire (NOFA-NH) and Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) Farm Share Programs. These two programs support organic farmers while making high-quality local food more accessible to community members in need.
Funds raised from this crowdfunding campaign will be evenly split between NOFA-NH and NOFA-VT — allowing more children, families, seniors, and other low-income individuals to receive a season’s worth of farm-fresh, organic produce at a reduced cost.
About NOFA-NH
NOFA-NH actively promotes organic, regenerative, ecologically sound farming, gardening, eating, and land care practices for healthy communities. We help people build local, just, and sustainable food systems.
About NOFA-VT
NOFA-VT promotes organic practices to build an economically viable, ecologically sound, and socially just Vermont agricultural system that benefits all living things.
About The Local Crowd Upper Valley
The Local Crowd Upper Valley began operations in 2019 as a local chapter of a national project that began five years earlier. Unlike commercial crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and GoFundMe, The Local Crowd chapters select projects based on what they add to the community and offer these projects technical assistance that results in a higher success rate for campaigns.
