Farm to Early Childhood Professional Development Day
Date and time: Sat, May 14, 2022, 8:45 AM – 2:45 PM
Location: Springfield Parent Child Center, 6 Main St, North Springfield, VT 05150
Cultivating Farm to Early Childhood (FTEC) is an opportunity for Family Child Care, Head Start, Center-Based, Public Pre-K, and Home Visiting educators — to explore and expand their personal and professional experience related to food and nutrition programming while building and strengthening community connections.
Attendees will immerse themselves in hands-on, child-centered learning experiences like butter making, taste testing, and wool felting! We’ll align activities with practical discussions for community networking with local farmers and food system experts to build your FTEC knowledge and practices. Learn how FTEC concepts help meet multiple standards across licensing, CACFP, VELS, and STARS by promoting children’s learning, social-emotional well-being, healthy eating habits, family engagement, and community building.
REGISTER BY: Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Non-Refundable $10 fee includes snacks, lunch, and materials.
A light morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack will be provided. Registration closes on the 11th so that a food order can be submitted first thing Thursday morning. Do not delay in registering.
This training workshop is eligible for 6 PD hours through Northern Lights.
This FTEC opportunity was designed for the Rozo McLaughlin Farm to School Program and is generously supported by Vermont FEED and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets. Vermont FEED is a farm-to-school partnership project of Shelburne Farms and NOFA-VT.
