Be among the first to take this brand new Valley Quest with the Newbury HIstorical Society volunteers who wrote it! 

A beautiful new Valley Quest is ready to be discovered! The Secrets of Tucker Mountain Quest in the Newbury (VT) Town Forest is on land purchased in recent years by the Town to preserve for future generations and public use. This Quest is a beautiful exploration of the flora, fauna, and landscape, carefully and thoughtfully created by area volunteers. John Nininger, a resident of Newbury, is a world-renowned expert in natural log structures. He volunteered to design and build the “Chinese woven bridge” that is featured in the Quest. Join Larissa Burak and Damon Bennett, two of the volunteers from the Newbury HIstorical Society who co-wrote this Quest, as they lead you to discover “the secrets of Tucker Mountain!

Where to meet: This Quest starts at the parking area at the East Entrance to Tucker Mtn, Town Forest, 1576 Tucker Mountain Road, West Newbury, VT.  Approaching from the east, drive west from the West Newbury post office 1.6 miles on Tucker Mountain Road to an orange gate. Park in the well-marked parking lot on the right. Using your GPS? It may take you erroneously to the West Entrance and tell you to drive from west to east over Tucker Mountain Road from the West Entrance. That road is not maintained and is impassable. Follow the alternate route around the mountain to the village of West Newbury and proceed as above.

Be sure to bring: Waterproof footwear, water
