Informational Session on Accessory Dwelling Units
Interested in becoming an “ADU” creator?
Learn about how you could create housing for your community while gaining an additional income stream by building and owning an ADU, or accessory dwelling unit! Not sure you could afford it or where to begin? We’d like to help!
What is an ADU?
An “Accessory Dwelling Unit” or ADU, often referred to as an “in-law apartment,” is a smaller rental unit on the same lot as the main house. ADUs come in many forms: they can be created within the existing envelop of the house (e.g. in an attic or a walkout basement); built as an attached extension; built within or attached to a different existing structure (e.g. above a detached garage); or built as a freestanding structure.
Join our information session on Thursday, February 15, 6:30-8pm at the Randolph Town Hall!
This event will feature panelists discussing:
- the design and construction of ADUs
- financing for ADUs
- zoning and permitting
- and considerations for being a landlord of an ADU
as well as plenty of time for Q&A. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

Co-sponsored by the Town of Randolph and the White River Valley Consortium, whose program manager is hosted by Vital Communities.
