Farm to School is an engaging and experiential approach to your school’s curriculum that can improve student health and well-being, meet learning standards, and connect students with their local food systems. Join the Upper Valley Farm to School Network and Billings Farm’s Chef Emery Gray to learn more about integrating FTS into your school. We will learn the basics of using gardens as classrooms while exploring the gardens at Billings Farm; consider different ways to connect with local farms while touring the dairying operations; and practice cooking techniques that you can use in your classroom! You will have the opportunity to cook alongside Chef Gray with recipes that use local produce and dairy. Expect this to be a fun and tasty evening!
Teachers will come away with a suite of FTS activities to bring into their classroom, and tips and techniques for connecting with local farms in their area.
