Webinar: Cooperatives, LLCs, and Other Shared Ownership.
Cooperatives, LLCs, and Other Shared Ownership. Some people who can’t afford to buy real estate individually are interested in purchasing it collaboratively with others to whom they are not related. It is important to create a model where all the co-purchasers are equitably protected, but developing a legal structure can be complicated. This webinar will look at resident-owned cooperatives, LLCs as a tool for collective ownership or gradual transfer of property, and the experience of collaboratively purchasing real estate without a specific legal structure in place.
This Webinar is the third of the Expanding Ownership: Shared Ownership Models to Increase Access to Housing and Farmland series.
This four part event series is designed for professionals and community members who are passionate about increasing housing access OR farmland access and interested in learning about collaborative and community-based models to make ownership of real estate more accessible.
This event series is being organized by Vital Communities, The Center for Agriculture and Food Systems at Vermont Law and Graduate School, Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation, and Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission.
