Overview
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPwES) is a rebate program through Efficiency Vermont that repays homeowners for 50% of weatherization or energy-efficiency project cost, up to $1,000 or even up to $3,000 for certain incomes. For homes with high energy bills or homes that have trouble staying warm in the winter and cool in the summer, HPwES makes whole-house solutions like insulation and air-sealing more affordable. The work is done by an Efficiency Excellence Network contractor who is verified by Efficiency Vermont so you know you are getting high-quality, effective work.
Who Should Apply:
Anyone! Anyone can apply for the HPwES rebate, but the amount of money you get back will be different depending on your income. All Vermonters can apply to receive up to $1,000 back and some incomes can receive up to $3,000. Look at the chart below for incomes that qualify for up to $3,000 back:

How to Apply:
If this program sounds right for you and you’re ready to apply, connect with a contractor from Efficiency Vermont’s Efficiency Excellence Network:
When your contractor has completed the work, have them report the work done to Efficiency Vermont for review (contractors in the Efficiency Excellence network will know how to do this).
You should expect to receive your rebate within 60 days of your contractor reporting to Efficiency Vermont!
