“A team of five staff from The Newton School attended the Farm-to-School Institute in Shelburne for an inspiring 3 days of great workshops, meals, and planning. We are excited to take our Farm-to-School program to the next level. Community members in Strafford are gearing up to plant an Edible Pocket Park and will collaborate with teachers in the fall to grow fruit and nut trees for the community. The Three Sisters Garden is thriving in the alpaca compost, with so much rain and sun thus far. The herb garden has been planted for fall use, as well as carrots and purple beans. So far, we are keeping up with the weeds!” – Kate Reimanis – The Newton School – Strafford, VT
