It’s no secret: Farmers markets and farm stands are fun. Markets and many stands allow you to buy from many local food producers, all in one location, and they allow farmers and their customers to meet, talk, and learn from each other. As COVID guidelines change, so do farmers markets and stands, making them safe and reliable for all concerned. Search The Vital Guide for Upper Valley farmers markets and farm stands!
Upper Valley Everyone Eats was the local hub of VERMONT EVERYONE EATS, the statewide coronavirus relief program that paid Vermont restaurants $10/meal to prepare free, nutritious meals to Vermonters experiencing food insecurity. The program accomplished three goals: providing a revenue stream to hard-hit local restaurants, providing food to Vermonters in need, and supporting the state’s local agricultural economy, by stipulating that at least 10% of meal ingredients must be sourced locally. Vital Communities extended the model into New Hampshire in early 2021 with Claremont Everyone Eats, a pilot program. The Upper Valley Everyone Eats program came to a close on March 31, 2023 as pandemic era relief funding wound down. Learn more about the impact the program had on the region by clicking the button below!”
