Marion Cross students are tapping, tasting, and boiling! We are learning how to identify maples and how the tree makes the sweetness it is sharing with us. We are measuring the size of the tree to determine how many taps to use and we are learning how heavy a bucket full of sap is, and how sweet the reward is for all the hard work. Having learned about photosynthesis and tree anatomy in the fall, students are now experiencing how all the pieces work together in our annual sugaring season rite of spring. Delicious! – Lindsay Putnam, Teacher, Marion Cross School,
