Ivy Condon

I am honored and excited to introduce to you Ivy Condon.  Ivy is a true leader for the community of Claremont.  Ivy was born and raised in Claremont, and like many kids, she participated in youth sports. It was here that she developed a love for the game of basketball.  Ivy graduated from Stevens High School and went on to Keene State College.  Ivy then returned to Claremont to live and work, involving herself in opportunities where she could have a positive impact on her community, especially focusing on youth and sports.

Ivy began her career as the Center Coordinator for the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center.  She is able to make an impact on program offerings from swim lessons to fitness classes.  One of the more popular swim lesson classes is the Parent and Me swim class which is taught by Ivy.  Her friendly demeanor and positive interactions with both the adults and children in the class create an environment in which children can become comfortable in the water.

Ivy has also been the Head Girls’ basketball coach for the last five years.  Not only does Ivy provide leadership and teach skills to her girls, but she also impresses upon them the importance of giving back to their community.   On Saturdays, for 8 weeks during the winter months, the girls’ basketball team can be found at the Community Center teaching 1^st and 2^nd graders skills and drills as part of the Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Basketball program.  In addition to this, during the off-season, Ivy and her husband, Steve, volunteer their time to run the Lady Hornets AAU Basketball Club for girls in grades 3 through 12.  Through these activities, Ivy is able to encourage children to become involved in sports, helping them to develop habits for a healthy lifestyle.

Ivy is dedicated to providing positive experiences to the youth and residents of Claremont.  Ivy is a strong role model for the youth of the community, showing others that hard work can help you to reach your goals.  Please join me in thanking Ivy for her work and positive influence within our community!
