Description

This farm has been conserved by the Upper Valley Land trust. UVLT is a regional land conservancy working to protect farmland, forests, wetlands and waterways, wildlife habitat, and trails and scenic areas in the Vermont and new Hampshire towns of the Upper Valley. Since 1985, UVLT has protected 530 parcels of land encompassing 54,446 acres. UVLT is a non-profit organization and is supported primarily by local contributions from individuals. Please note: During the Quest, you will cross beneath electric fences meant to contain grazing cattle.  Do not be concerned—but please do be careful!  You may also come across grazing cows.  Proceed gently, with awareness.  This is a working farm.  Now on to the Quest!

Directions

Take I-91 to Bradford VT (Exit 16.) Travel east to get to Route 5, then travel north on Route 5. As you pass Oxbow High School click your odometer and count off 3.7 miles. Sleeper's Meadow will apear on your left, with a big brown barn. Park near the barn.

Update to this Quest

This quest originally appeared in Valley Quest II:75 More Treasure Hunts. It was revised and included in Best of Valley Quest. If you are using Valley Quest II you will need these clue updates. #6. The number to the right was our zip code. Please WRITE the third number here: #14. The ski trail sign is gone, but there is a Quester’s Trail sign posted to show you the way! If you are using the Best of the Valley Quest and older editions, in clue #3 the Big Wooden sign has been moved up the hill. Continue the quest and place clue #3 after #6. (use the original clue numbers for the letters) #11-the blaze is hard to see right at the intersection due to tree cover (go left to find it) #12- depending on the time of year, there may or may not be fences here due to pasture rotation.
