Description

A beautiful walk through the woods with an old estate AND a special watery surprise at the end, to boot.  You will learn about the food web and Earth’s “spheres” as you go through Muckross State Park.

 

 

Directions

From I-91, take Exit 7 towards Springfield. Continue 2 miles, then turn sharply right onto Paddock Rd. Turn right again before the bridge onto Perley Gordon Rd and pull off to park along the side of the road. From here, walk across the bridge and bear left immediately after the bridge. This road will work its way uphill. You will see a kiosk sign for Muckross State Park on the right side of the road after a minute or two. Our Quest begins here.

This Quest was written in 2017 by the 5th grade class at the Union Street School at the new Muckross State Park. Over the course of several field trips, students applied their knowledge of the Earth’s “spheres” and the food web at Muckross State Park.
