We’re highlighting the work of our Upper Valley Everyone Eats partners to encourage the community to support the folks and businesses that have been supporting local farmers and eaters in communities across the Upper Valley. Think about purchasing from one of these partners when you look toward holiday shopping, or keep them in mind when you’re out and about and looking for a bite to eat!
The Little Grille
The Little Grille, with a primary location in Bradford, VT and a secondary one in Littleton, NH has been a big part of the Upper Valley Everyone Eats program for the past several years. This restaurant has provided some of the largest meal quantities for local meal sites, and has been ready to step up and figure out ways to take on more sites to meet the needs of the community! At one high point of need over the course of the program, these folks were able to make close to 800 meals a week for folks in the community. The Little Grille has supplied meals to community organizations like Listen and the Haven, community meal sites like the Bradford Public Library and Thetford Food Shelf, and schools, like Thetford Elementary School!
You can purchase a gift card for The Little Grille at their online store here. Stop by the next time you’re in Bradford!
Global Village Foods:
Global Village Foods doesn’t fit the mold of a traditional restaurant partner for the Upper Valley Everyone Eats program, but they have been an incredibly integral part of the program’s success! Based in Quechee, VT, Global Village Foods is a company that makes prepared frozen meals that are available for retail sale. From dishes like Chickpea Vegetable Tajine to Swahili Inspired Curry Chicken, Global Village Foods has something for everyone! What’s even better is that everything they make is allergy friendly. They have been so flexible throughout the program, always ready to step in and pinch hit if there’s an issue like a meal site needing more meals than their regular partner can provide.
We don’t have a gift card link for Global Village Foods, like we do with most of our other partners, but we DO have a list of places you can find their products! Check out the wonderful meals that the team at Global Village are putting together by using their store locator and finding the closest shop near you that stocks their meals. Or, read up more about their business on their website!
Waits River Country Store & Deli:
The Waits River Country Store & Deli is a staple of West Topsham, VT. Owned and helmed by Heather Paye, the store is more than a country store! They have a kitchen that serves up breakfast sandwiches, lunches, and dinners for folks in the community. Heather’s business is the newest addition to the UVEE program, and continues to be a great partner, working to connect with folks in the community about volunteering with the program, working closely with the local school, and being a community site for folks to pick up meals!
Check them out the next time you’re near West Topsham, or visit them this winter at Northeast Slopes where they’ll be making food for folks enjoying the snow! You can also keep up with specials on their Facebook page here.
Tacocat Cantina:
Tacocat Cantina is a UVEE partner with a brick-and-mortar in Randolph, but prior to that, was well-known for their Taco Truck! When the pandemic hit, Jenn and her team had to make some big changes to adapt, as many folks did, and through those adaptations they helped other community members by sourcing from farmers who found themselves with surpluses of product that they needed to sell. They set up shop at the Randolph location in 2020, and they have been a great partner serving Randolph area meal sites for the Everyone Eats program.
You can visit their shop, or click through here to pick up an e-gift card on their website here! E-gift cards are good for in store and online purchases, and they’re offering a 10% discount on all gift card purchases until December 31, 2022!
Maple Street Catering/Big Fatty’s BBQ:
If you receive our e-news, you may have already seen us talk about Maple Street Catering this fall, but we want to mention them again as you think about any winter events you may be having. The team at Maple Street Catering has done an awesome job working with the Everyone Eats program, and have stepped up time and time again to make meals for a whole host of meal sites.
This past fall, they started working with the program again after taking a break over the summer to focus on a busy catering season. They jumped right back into the thick of things in September and have been providing families of Hartland Elementary School with delicious meals on a weekly basis for the past three months. Give them a look when you’re planning your next event, or think about grabbing a gift card from Big Fatty’s BBQ – their sister restaurant – for a gift this holiday season! You can pick up gift cards, t-shirts, and branded glasses at their restaurant.
Windsor Diner:
The Windsor Diner is a homey venture run by Theresa Rhoades and has taken up providing meals for many folks in the Windsor, VT, area over the past two years of the Everyone Eats program. Working with meal sites like churches, all the way to providing meals toward the Veggie Van Go program, the Windsor Diner has been hugely important in meal distribution throughout this program.
Hosting weekly Fish Frys throughout the summer, the Windsor Diner is a community staple. You can keep up with their events and specials by following them on Facebook here or you can stop on by and sample their menu! Find Theresa and the crew at 135 Main St. Windsor, VT.
