Alana joined Vital Communities in July of 2022 as a Project Manager focused on Climate, Agriculture, Energy, and the Local Economy. She has worked with a number of place-based organizations across Vermont that ranged in focus from agriculture and economic development to gender equity and postsecondary education and training. She recently completed a graduate program in Sustainable Cities and Communities that bridged her passion for community development with her commitment to climate change mitigation and adaptation work. She is a potter and loves to hike and be outside. “I am driven by my Jewish value of Tikkun Olam — to heal the world — and the need to reimagine and rebuild our systems to better take care of ourselves, our community members, and our natural world.”
