Overview
Zero Energy Modular Home (ZEM) is a program through Efficiency Vermont that helps Vermonters replace their home with a new net-zero modular home that’s built to create as much electricity as it uses. Many Vermonters live in mobile homes or other housing that loses and brings high energy bills because of thin walls and slim insulation. ZEM homes are designed to produce as much electricity as they use, resulting in zero energy costs for you, and a comfortable, affordable, healthy home. ZEM homes are built in Vermont with long-lasting durable construction for the extreme weather and cold of New England.
Who Should Get a ZEM:
Anyone! Zero Energy Modular Homes are available to all Vermonters. If you are really unhappy with your home, you struggle to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer, have trouble keeping up with your energy bills, if your home is really drafty or you have other concerns about your home that just can’t be fixed, a ZEM might be for you. There are additional income-based subsidies and incentives for ZEM homes like low-interest or 0% interest rate loans that can cover your down payment.
